With spring in full swing, the longer, brighter days, bird song and flora bursting into life are an invitation to plan your summer breaks in the New Forest National Park. What’s on in May 2025
Dogstival - 31st May – 1st June
Our dog-friendly hotel is delighted to share this fantastic event. This is a festival that is ALL about your four-legged friend and is a great event to go to with the kids. They really will be the centre of attention at this two-day event designed and dedicated to dogs, jam-packed with dog-friendly entertainment, displays, activities, live music and treats – for all!
What’s on in June 2025
The National Garden Scheme | 7th & 8th June 2025
Our hotel garden is a well-loved tranquil space in the heart of the National Park that brings joy to our guests, and to us. And now, as proud members of the National Garden Scheme, we only hope that our English country garden may be enjoyed by many more, with all donations going to the deserving beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme (NGS).
On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of June 2025, we will be hosting an open weekend from 10am until 4pm, with Head Gardener, Matt, taking visitors on tours of the garden (10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm). The £6 donation for the tour will go to the NGS, and of course there will be plenty of tea and cake for those attending for a small £3 donation.

Father's Day Lunch | 15th June 2025
Make a day of it; head over to the New Forest for a celebratory dining experience at Monty’s or the Terrace followed by a family walk along the river or through the forest.

Wild New Forest - 21st June 2025 | 09:00
From the doorstep of our Hampshire hotel, the Wild New Forest walks are a wonderful family-friendly activity to do with the kids this summer. Wild New Forest’s expert guides will lead you through our beautiful landscape, telling you about the abundant flora and fauna as you wander; identify various species, discover their unique ecological roles, and take in the beauty of nature on this special guided tour created for all ages and experience levels.
The experience starts at the hotel at 9am with a private continental breakfast hosted by Wild New Forest, with an illustrated Nature Talk followed by a Guided Nature Walk at Culverley, in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Drinks and biscuits will be waiting upon your return to the hotel.

Lymington Seafood Festival | 11th – 13th July 2025
Do you love our local Lymington Seafood Festival or are going for the first time? Plan a break in Beaulieu, just 14-minutes away. New Forest & Hampshire County Show - 29-31st July 2025
Join our very own Executive Head Chef Alistair Craig at this year’s New Forest & Hampshire County Show, the much-loved agricultural show, and one of the largest in the UK, that brings together livestock competitions, equestrian events, craft stalls, local food and drink vendors, and non-stop entertainment for the whole family.
Alistair will be taking to the stage with a live cookery demonstration on Wednesday 30th at 10am - don’t miss him!
What’s on in August 2025
The Great Beaulieu Dog Walk | 6th August 2025 | 11:00
We’re excited to bring together local and visiting dog-lovers for a lovely summer walk in the New Forest, starting at The Montagu Arms Hotel and heading to the historic Buckler's Hard. Complimentary tea, coffee and dog treats will start the day, ensuring all dog walkers and pooches are energised and ready, then at Buckler’s Hard, walkers can enjoy tea, coffee, and dog ice cream from The Master Builders, before making their way back to Beaulieu.
