Meet the team
At Monty’s Inn, great hospitality starts with great people and Marcell is a perfect example of that.
Originally from Hungary, Marcell comes from a proud three-generation hospitality family, where a passion for welcoming guests and creating memorable experiences runs deep. Growing up surrounded by the industry, it was only natural that he would follow the same path, bringing with him a strong foundation in both service and tradition.
Marcell began shaping his career in Austria, where he spent five years working in hotels and steadily progressing to the role of Restaurant Manager. During this time, he developed a keen eye for detail, a strong leadership style, and a genuine understanding of what makes exceptional guest experiences.
He later returned to Hungary, where he worked in fine dining, further refining his skills and deepening his appreciation for refined cuisine, attentive service, and beautifully crafted dishes.
In 2017, Marcell made the move to England, taking on a role in a two AA Rosette restaurant. An experience that strengthened his commitment to excellence and consistency. Just a year later, in 2018, he was appointed Deputy General Manager at The Huntsman of Brockenhurst, where he played a key role in the venue’s continued success.
By 2022, Marcell stepped into the position of General Manager at The Mayflower in Lymington, leading the team with passion, precision, and a people-first approach.
Now, as Manager of Monty’s Inn, Marcell brings his international experience, leadership expertise, and warm personality to the heart of the New Forest. He is dedicated to ensuring every guest feels welcomed, relaxed, and well looked after, whether they’re joining us for a casual drink or a memorable meal.
Outside of work, Marcell enjoys spending time fishing, cooking, and, of course, unwinding with a good glass of wine.
