Autumn Dining in the New Forest: Our Brand New House Menu
As Autumn approaches, we couldn't be more excited to unveil our brand new autumn house menu, perfect for Autumn dining in the New Forest
The menu embraces comfort, warmth, and the rich flavours that Autumn has to offer, showcasing the very best of British dining infused with handpicked produce provided by the New Forest.
Our extensive New House Menu can be enjoyed wherever you feel most comfortable. Whether that’s with the family in tow at our country pub, Monty’s, alfresco in our English country garden or in our smart wood-panelled dining room, The Terrace.
Dine in the New Forest and choose from a selection of small plates, large plates and wholesome salads. Expect some of our signature favourites including battered haddock, chunky chips, garden peas and tartare sauce or cheese burger, tomato chutney, lettuce, gherkin, onion ring and Koffman’s fries and some exciting new additions such as slow cooked lamb shoulder, ras el hanout, butternut squash, houmous and tabouleh or herb crushed potatoes, spinach, poached egg, hollandaise and Tenderstem broccoli.
For those who love something sweet, indulge on our Warm Milk Chocolate Cookie served with Salted Caramel Ice Cream. It's so good we couldn’t resist sharing this Autumn recipe so you can enjoy it at home.
Ingredients
- 225g melted butter
- 400g plain flour
- 1 ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 300g soft light brown sugar
- 100g caster sugar
- 2 whole eggs
- 350 g milk chocolate
Method
- Melt butter and mix with the two sugars
- Add the eggs and whisk until thick, smooth and pale
- Mix in the dry ingredients and stir in the chocolate
- Divide into 80g balls and chill for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Bake in oven at 180c for 8 ½ minutes
