5 Places To Visit In The New Forest

Welcome to this wonderful National Park in Hampshire.

If you’re looking to make the most of the great outdoors and see all the New Forest has to offer, take a look at the list below for some of our top recommendations.

Enjoy!

The New Forest Tour Bus

Launching on 27th June and running through until 13th September is the great New Forest Tour. This open top tour bus will take you through the forest to some of our favourite destinations in the forest. Sit upstairs and enjoy the views as you drive through open heathland, quaint little villages and along the coastline. The tour is separated into three different routes ensuring you don’t miss a thing and what’s more, you can hop on and off as you please. There are plenty of stops positioned around the entire National Park with buses turning up hourly.

Beaulieu Motor Museum

Visit Beaulieu Palace House and the National Motor Museum for a fun day out, with events being held all year round. Opened in 1952, discover historic motor vehicles, and the latest exhibition ‘A Chequered History’. The beauty of Beaulieu Motor Museum is its short distance from the hotel. Accessible by foot and car you’ll be there in minutes!

Exbury Gardens

Visit the spectacular Exbury Gardens, now open every day until 8th November, boasting the most beautiful spring flowers including daffodils, primroses, magnificent magnolias and beautiful camellias all bursting into bloom.
The 200 acre site is 'world-famous for the Rothschild Collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and rare trees and shrubs. This earthly paradise offers a riot of colour in spring, an oasis of tranquillity in summer followed by a splendid show as the leaves change in the autumn. Capture Exbury’s hidden beauty and escape the cares of the world as you explore a myriad of pathways.'

Hurst Castle

Part of the stunning Solent Way Walk, Hurst Castle is an historical landmark for Milford on Sea. Just 1.5 miles from Milford and only accessible by foot and ferry, this captivating building boasts stunning views of the Isle of Wight. Visitors can explore the castle for a small fee and it makes for a great afternoon out in the sunshine.

Bucklers Hard

Enjoy a peaceful walk from the hotel along the Beaulieu Riverbank to Buckler’s Hard Maritime Museum or take a short drive. Beautiful rain or shine, discover a peaceful haven steeped in history.
Whether you visit Buckler's Hard for the museum, the Master Builder's Hotel for a spot of lunch or a beautiful river cruise, you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of an afternoon spent beside the water at this 18th century shipbuilding village.
