It’s officially hot chocolate, puddle-jumping, pumpkin picking season! And that means October half term is fast approaching. Embark on a fun-filled Halloween adventure at The Montagu Arms Hotel with our first ever Halloween Pumpkin Hunt! Children of all ages can put their sleuthing skills to the test as they solve riddles then search high and low throughout the hotel’s grounds in pursuit of hidden pumpkins to uncover the Halloween phrase that grants their mystery treat. With a hint of mystery and a dash of spookiness, this playful activity promises thrills and laughter for the whole family, making it the perfect way to kick off your half-term break.

Step into the untamed beauty of the New Forest with a guided Wild New Forest Walk that promises an immersive nature experience like no other. Led by a knowledgeable forest expert from Wild New Forest, this excursion invites families to connect with the great outdoors, observe wildlife in its natural habitat, and discover hidden gems that lie off the beaten path. From mushrooms and toadstools to curious critters, the Wild New Forest Walk is a delightful adventure that will leave your senses rejuvenated, offering a unique way to appreciate the magic of the season.

The half term fun continues outside of our hotel, with the charming village of Beaulieu playing host to a variety of Halloween attractions and events:

• Scarecrow Scramble at the Beaulieu Estate

A fun activity for all – there are 8 hidden scarecrows around the Beaulieu site. You’ll need to pick up an activity sheet at the Visitor Reception, then once you’ve found all 8 scarecrows, head to the potion making hut to decipher the magic word!

• Spooky Ghost Stories in Palace House

Each day, from 12pm to 4pm there will be hourly ghost story sessions inside the Palace House.

• Potion Making near Beaulieu Abbey

Unleash your inner witch or wizard and help make potions in the Victorian Vegetable Garden hut near Beaulieu Abbey. A fun interactive experience with a little education thrown in!

• Ghostly Ghouls Hunt at The National Motor Museum

There will be ghostly ghouls hidden around the National Motor Museum this half term – go and see how many you can spot, and write their names on your activity sheet!
