What's happening in our New Forest Hotel Garden
Our new flower beds which greet you upon arrival are now packed full of pollinator friendly flowers, created with bumblebees at its heart. With flowers such as alliums, poppies, comfrey, cornflowers and borage, the purples, blues and reds of this space really bring it to life. Our gardeners planted it in a grid format to allow our guests the freedom to walk amongst it all, watching the bees going about their work.
Our vegetable patch is starting to fill out now the soil has warmed. Jerusalem artichokes are standing at about 6 feet tall, herbs are filling the borders and courgettes are almost ready to pick. Garlic was recently harvested and is now curing and will soon be used in our Beaulieu village pub, Monty's and at our modern-British restaurant, The Terrace.
Edible flowers are being picked daily to add that extra splash of colour to your plate.
Resident birds are abundant and can be seen all around the garden. Parent birds are closely followed by their young as they await their next meal.
Our gardeners are now at their busiest period of the year with endless dead heading, weeding, mowing and watering to be done. They are delighted to see so many of you already enjoying the garden and appreciate all the positive feedback they regularly receive. We have chosen to extend the opportunity to others to enjoy our gardens and are very happy to announce that we have been accepted into the National Garden Scheme and will be taking part in next year's event. We will be announcing dates and more information in the near future.
